Recapitulation of ARIANEE PROJECT AMA event held at AMA LOVERS CLUB.

The ARIANEE PROJECT team was represented by @LucJodet who judiciously shared with us detailed knowledge and information about ARIANEE PROJECT.


Q1: Can you please introduce yourself and your background, also introduce the Team working on the ARIANEE project?

ANS: I am Luc Jodet, the co-founder of Arianee. I got into crypto with the launch of Ethereum. I had a previous company which worked in Energy Traceability and it got me interested in Blockchain . Energy traceability was unfortunately not a good use case for Blockchain but I found my co-founders who were thinking about using NFTs to create digital identities for Luxury goods. I ended up selling my previous company and joining them to co-found Arianee in late 2017.
My co-founders are repeat entrepreneurs with several exits (Teads, Vestiaire Collective) and experience both in the tech industry and Luxury/fashion industry in particular in the Swiss watch industry.

Q2: Can you introduce the ARIANEE project, what critical problems does it solve that existing solutions are not solving and what's the competitve advantage?

ANS: Arianee is the standard for digital identities for luxury products.
We uses NFTs to generate digital passports for luxury products. These passports are a proof of authenticity, a proof of ownership and can record events such as servicing or historical events.

Because these passports are P2P, they can be transfered from owner to owner over time without the approval of the brand who issued the passport (its the beautiful thing about decentralized protocols). This is core to the offreing and it is also interesting for brands as they can always send a message to a product (the NFT) and by ricochet to its current owner. Our name comes from this last emergent feature as brands can fidn their way to a customer just like Theseus found his way out of the maze with the Ariadne Thread (Ariane in french)

The problem we solved compared to other protocols is that we work hand in hand with luxury brands such as Breilting, Audemars Piguet, The Richemont group and many others (full list: to customise the NFTs standard to fit their problematics. Anybody can make an NFT but making the right NFT for all the luxury industry requires a lot of fine tuning with the brands.

Q3: Can you briefly describe the Top milestones you have achieved and your target milestones with timelines, also share your roadmap?

ANS: We launched the project in late 2017. Funded the project with a token sale in late 2018, we kept on building and launched the first version of the protocol in June 2019.
The first brands have launched pilot projects throughout 2020.
Breitling was the first brand to deliver an Arianee digital passport with every one of their watches since January 1st 2021. Vacheron and Ba&Sh are right about to follow suit.

Q4: Can you briefly describe your PARTNERSHIPS?

ANS: You can find the list of companies participating in the consortium here:

They are all either testing, building on helping to develop the protocol. Several brands including Breilting and Vacheron Constantin, but also more up-and-coming brands such as RSVP or Satoshi Studio are already live on the protocol delivering Arianee certificates to their customers.

Q5: Can you give an overview of your Tokenomics, and the UTILITY of the ARIA20 token?

ANS: The ARIA20 is used for two main purposes:
- Staking to reserve your brand identity. This is a way for us to verify that a user is serious when they claim to be Chanel, Rolex or another brand,
- Paying for the core features of the protocol which can only be paid on-chain: Generating the product passport, adding an event to the product’s passport (events could be servicing your products, attending a sporting competition,etc…), sending a message to the product and by ricochet to the current product owner.

Q6: Finally on this segment, How does Arianee help solve the problem of Digital Identity theft and Problems of Piracy which is prevalent in the African Markets?

ANS: On this we are pretty clear that Arianee will not solve the counterfeiting problem in the luxury industry in its own . However it is an additional layer that contributes to anti-counterfeiting. We digitalise certificates of ownership which are now un-duplicable. This already a great step forward as you need an Arianee certificate to prove that toi own a real product and you can’t fake that.
Now we still think you should go through a reputable resale platform such as TheRealReal or Vinted to get your product authenticated. These platforms do tell us that the certificate is of great help as it helps weeding out some fakes but to make sure your product is real you need the eye of an expert.

2nd Segment: LIVE Questions

Q1: Please can you tell us more on your partnership with Lukso? How does this partnership improve the @ArianeeProject? What benefit does it bring to the @ArianeeProject community?

ANS: We have been in touch with Fabian for over 2 years. He is a tech advisor on Arianee and we are partners on Lukso. So we know each other.
Lukso aims to become a sidechain of Ethereum focused on creative industries.
We are a protocol that builds, with and for luxury and fashion brands, an additional layer on the general purpose ERC-721 standard to meet the specfic demands of this industry. Our protocol can be deployed on any Ethereum based (EVM) blockchain. Today we are on POAnetwork but we are considering deploying on Lukso when it is live next year. Lukso is one of our prefered options but we are also considering other alternatives and of course we are quite interested in what Ethereum 2.0 is advancing.

Lukso NFTs are going to be similar to what Ethereum puts forward, meaning an all-purpose ERC-721 NFTs.
All-purpose is a good fondation but for the luxury brands we work with, it is insufficient as is. They need additional features such as content encryption which is not standard on the ERC-721 standard. Arianee is an additional layer on top of ERC-721 that is built by and for the industry.
Now it should be noted that some of these standards are good for the industries represented by Arianee but might not be for other creative industries. The music industry for instance. In that case I expect another actor to build that additional layer on top of the all-purpose ERC-721 to cater to the specific needs of the Music Industry.

Q2: Hello !
While I see most blockchain projects come out with hotshot keywords claiming to be different from rest in the space and minimal product where do you see your product actually being used by the community and solving the real world problem?

ANS: We adopted a different approach to most projects: we stayed quiet and built for three years and are just now starting to communicate.
We already bring value to the customers of some of the best luxury brands in the world such as Breilting, Vacheron Constantin, Ba&Dh and soon many more!

Q3: Where can you Buy token today? Will there be a Public Sale?

ANS: Public sale was 3 years ago so a bit late. The token is availble on Uniswap:

Q4: A study from 2015 showed that 81% of Millennials expect a brand to be transparent about its marketing and actively talk about its sustainability approach.

How does Arianee make the focus on the Millennial generation a continuing closeness? What kind of transparent brand does Arianee provide in realizing the hopes of the milleneal community?

ANS: Indeed! I think we did a post on this subject 😉
The Arianee passports actually offer the possibility ot add “transparency” events that enables owners to trakc hoe and where their products were made.

An other important subject for fashion and. the new luxury is provable scarcity. Using our passports you can ensure that only a certain amount of units were generated and not one more. You know for sure that your pair of young Yeezy is really a limted series and not that it is not just a gimmick.
