I'm the Head of Partnerships at PlanetQuest!
Our Founder is Loren Roosendaal, who's been making games since puberty. He's founded multiple game titles since, and more recently, is EmberSword, whose alpha is coming to IMX this quarter I believe! Last week, CoinGecko posted their top 10 NFT games to play in 2022, and EmberSword was the go-to game in the list. Loren is still active in that phase, and he is also involved in this sci-fi shooter spinoff at PlanetQuest.
We also have Jon McCoy, one of the founders too and the Art Director, whose talent is lent to big screen titles like the recent Batman, Rogue One, Doctor Strange, Eternals, Avengers, and more I can't possibly mouth here.

Our head of Game Development, Don, has decades of experience in building games, as he's led teams in Rockstar Studios, Sega, Ronin Entertainment, and he's helping us build the awesome procedurally generated maps for our players.

Can you introduce Planet Quest, what critical problems does it solve that existing solutions are not solving and what's the competitive advantage?
Yes we're an open book!
PQ is a Free-to-Play, Multiplayer Exploration and Survival Shooter.
We're creating a Cinematic Gaming Universe. We'd like to call it cinematic because we're building a full media franchise behind it, akin to the likes of Dota-Dragons' Blood, and League - Arkane. Each week, the lore behind the game is being curated and decided on by our community - the character pivots and plot lines behind the game are literally in our community's hands. - very decentralized. We're aiming to even release our first novel by the end of the year, written by one of the writers behind Game of Thrones and Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, it'll be something to look forward to!
So yep that's the Cinematic or media overview
As for the GAME, it's a top down perspective shooter, so think Diablo perspective, with projectile physics, and some class archetypes determined exclusively by the gear that players wear. Basically, you suit up, select mission, dive into a planet, shoot some alien guts, or cooperate or play versus mode against players, and get rewards after that!
Certain types of gears provide specific utilities that land themselves in maybe a heavy arms build, or a stealth build, a glass cannon or a defensive tank. It gets exciting because you can customize or min max your build however you please right, and that's where the complexity and experimentation comes into play, which I'm very much looking forward to.
Apart from it being free to play, you will also be able to play it from any device - whether it's PC, mobile, or even from your browser! And to making even more frictionless, you won't even need to connect your wallet to be able to play. And it's free to play.
We're solving the problem of gamefi being heavily hard to get into.
In our game, you won't need any capital to play, can play it through ANY device (pc/mobile/browser), and you won't even need to connect a wallet to play!
Our ethos is also COMMUNITY FIRST. That's why we're continuing to build a game that will be as accessible to anyone in the space. Whether you're a grinder, a casual player, a veteran, or whichever way of playing you prefer.
Okay, I have wanted to ask.
The Planetquest.io doesn't respond on Mobile, always asking to switch to a desktop device. Why is that?
The game isn't live for now, the pre-alpha will be live end of the year
At this time, layer 2 (IMX) isn't mobile-responsive
And since connecting wallet requires an ETH layer 2 integration, that's not currently accessible via mobile
however the game won't have that limitation
It's like how Metamask in the earlier days didn't have a mobile application ya.
✨✨QUESTION3🩸: Can players earn while playing the game?
👉ANS: Of course! Players will be earning our main token, called PQX, or Quantum in the game
These will be rewarded post missions
The game will be off chain though, as mentioned
The conversion of assets however will require connection to your wallets, of course.
However you can play as much and earn as much in the in-game economy off chain, and just convert on-chain at a convenient time!

Can you briefly describe your PARTNERSHIPS and BACKERS so far?
👉ANS: Our lead investor is Kingsway Capital, which is THE biggest backer of Animoca. They're very exclusive, having only invested in the Sanbox as one of the lead investors too, as well as PlanetQuest. We also have Alameda Research, an excellent market maker and investor, and known to be extremely notorious in its due diligence. We have Double Peak, who's doubling up together with its Esports arm called Kratos Guild. SkyVision Capital and Primeblock Ventures are also high tiered, reliable and known in the space.
We have multiple guild aggregators and tech partners, including GuildFi, Metavest, Ignite Tournaments, Infinity Force, Rainmaker Games, Merit Circle, and tons more!

i'll gladly give some highlights
We're not using a first come, first serve approach
We're doing this because this approach often leads to gas wars, bot sniping, whale-favored sales
and it sometimes runs AGAINST communtiy
so because we're community first, we're doing it based on "applications" instead
because your wallet and discord are synced, we know what your degree of participation is in the community
we know the chat levels, the contributions you do, the events you participate in, etc
So according to those, plus the NFTs that you own, we form a ranking system and only "sell" planets if you really are a valued member of the community!
This sale is a community sale too because we're slashing off as high as 75% of our NFTs' sale price
with the lowest NFT, Common Planet priced at 250 USD
Once we gather all the applications (10,500 as of now I believe), we'll then read through all of it, including what you write as to why you should be allowed to buy the planets
It'll take a while for us to do that, but we're willing to because it's community first!
This weeds out the bots, and really lets the genuine community participate :)

as an overview, our Planets are THE key to playing in PlanetQuest
It has various classes, like Ice planets, Volcanic, Tropical, and etc
Each of these classes contain specific species of aliens and surfaces as well
It is where the players dive into for all the missions
in other words, you as a planet owner own THE gaming environment you'll be playing in!
It's beyond just owning an avatar, or the gear. We believe this is something not done yet
On top of this, as a planet owner, you can allow about 30 people to play in your planet and share in their yield
It's somewhat similar to the manager - scholar model, except that the ratio is 1 manager : 30 scholars for the price of 1 NFT
And this utility doesn't change based on the rarity!
We believe that provides the players, the community with immense value
As for our token,
The game also uses Classes based on the gears that the players possess
So the PQX token is used to purchase additional classes to have a more varied gameplay
This also makes the PQX in constant demand to be given back to the game (away from the marketplace, akin to burning)
There will always be a demand for purchasing new equipment
As for tokenomics, the main takeaway here is that the players will receive a daily reward that is 40% of the total profits everyday!
Thus our players not just get scraps, and we truly give back to the community, as going back to our main value of Community First.

So the genesis engine is THE engine for planet generation
it is entirely proprietary
It will also be the game engine
We're not using Unity or UE5
We're developing OUR OWN, and that tech is what makes our game playable from the get-go in full 3D
so this image here for example, the size, amount of lava, clouds, water, land are all determined by hundreds of sliders
it's not just a picture with 6 attributes
Each time the sliders are adjusted, the planet morphs as each value is changed
if you go to our site, you can actually see these planets revolving in real time
and that will how you will see it in your own wallet!
We are setting this up game wise too that you can boot the game in seconds using our engine.
